City schoolchildren took part in the “Budding Entrepreneur Workshop” held at the Indian School of Business. “The main goal of this workshop is to teach entrepreneurial skills including financial analysis, brainstorming, leadership, teamwork, competitive analysis, design thinking and public speaking.” said Bryan Cockel, camp director, BizSmart Global.
Team work
The camp was held by BizSmart, U.S. and Butterfly EduFields, Hyderabad. The children were divided into groups, and each child given a separate designation such as CEO, CTO, CMO, and others. Teams came up with business plans with the help of workshop faculty. “We had to prepare a business plan; how we define the idea and present it being the keys,” says Yogitha, of Timpany School, Visakhapatnam.
Children prepared their speeches and presented them to the jury. Graduation certificates for all participants and awards for the best team, which included a chance to participate in a global venture competition sponsored by the Keiretsu Forum.
Esha Gadhi, a Std. V student of ISH (ICRISAT campus) also the youngest at the camp and Charu Gupta, head girl of Oakridge High School, won the Young Entrepreneur Award, with full tuition fee of $1,400 to attend Camp BizSmart, U.S. at Stanford University.
