Olive and cheese toast

Olive and Cheese Toast/Sticks

Servings: 4-5

Preparation time: 10 min Cooking time: 10 min

Ingredients

Green sliced / pitted olives — 4-5 tbsp

Processed cheese, grated — 4-5 tbsp

Red chilli flakes —1 tbsp

Chopped garlic (optional) —1 tbsp

Some fresh basil leaves

Softened butter — 2 tbsp

Sandwich bread slice / Roll / Stick of your choice

Method

Mix sliced / pitted olives, grated cheese, chilli flakes, basil leaves and chopped garlic to prepare the sandwich spread. Spread butter on one side of the slices of bread or slit and butter the roll or stick. Next, spread the mix evenly on the slices of bread. Grill or bake it in the preheated griller or oven until the cheese melts .

Cut the sandwiches into small portions and serve hot with tomato ketchup.

Pineapple Lassi

Refreshing pineapple lassi makes for a great drink and is a good alternative for milk. It tastes great and is high on calcium.

Servings: 4

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

Pineapple fruit juice or pineapple slices — loaded with vitamins which prevent cold and cough and strengthen bones

2 cups of thick yoghurt — good source of calcium and Vitamin D which are important for bone development

Crushed Ice —1or 2 cups

2 tbsp sugar / honey — provides energy

Method

Combine all ingredients in a blender till it becomes smooth and frothy. Serve immediately with ice in fancy glasses.
