Ravindra Bharati School in Piler town celebrated “Profession Day” recently to create awareness among students on the impact made by various professions on one's life. “Every vocation is a dedication. Every profession has its own importance” was the message. A mini market was set up with tiny tots dressed as merchants and fruit/vegetable sellers to lay stress on their importance. Another corner had a police station where students dressed as cops “investigated” a case. A bank with a manager threw light on the financial services offered to the customers along with many other professions. Senior Civil Judge S.Palani and Junior Civil Judge G.Hari expressed surprise at the students' awareness levels and appreciated the Dean B.T.Sreedevi for organising a novel programme. The school's General Manager Sivaiah, Zonal in-charge Pavan and his deputy K.M.Reddy took part.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan conducted its annual “Deepavali Sneha Sammelan 2011” at its Sri Venkateswara Vidyalaya campus. It was inaugurated by N. Satyanarayana Raju, honorary Director and treasurer of Bhavan's Tirupati Kendra. Forty games and food stalls were set up. The Superintendent of Police (Tirupati Urban) J.Prabhakara Rao and TTD's Joint Executive Officer K.Srinivasa Raju were guests of honour. Besides a quiz competition, Rangoli and “Best food stall”and there was a Raffle draw too.

Sri Venkateswara Children's High School recently distributed groceries to “Akshaya Kshetram”, a home for the differently-abled persons and under-privileged children, located at Durgasamudram on the outskirts of Tirupati.

With the slogan “A rupee a day can wipe many cries”, the school Correspondent K.S. Vasu launched the “Little Hands” programme, whereby the students, teachers and other visitors to the school will have to drop Re.1 a day into the Hundi, which will be used to meet the requirements of the people with special needs.

The amount of Rs.3560 collected was used to buy 100 kg rice, pulses and biscuit packets, which were distributed to the inmates of ‘Akshaya Kshetram'.

Five students of Sri Chaitanya Techno School's STV Nagar campus got selected at the district level Karate Belt examination conducted by Shito Ryu Karate Do India at Srinivasa sports complex, Tirupati recently. The exams were conducted by Andhra Pradesh Karate Association general secretary Renshi R.Mahesh Kumar.

V.Bhavana, S.K. Adil, T.Lithish, J.Maganesh and P. Jayanth Kumar have thus become eligible for the state Karate championship to be conducted in Guntur on Nov 13. School Director B.Seema Sricharan, Principal A.Srinivasulu, Dean M.N. Raju and AGM B.Suresh congratulated the students and the coach G.Suman for the accomplishment.
