The Gandhi Peace Foundation, Madras, is organising the 64th Sarvodaya (Welfare of all) Day Celebrations in schools and colleges. The aim of the celebration would be to promote in the youth a lifestyle suitable for the welfare of all creations. Gandhian lifestyle of simplicity, decentralisation, trusteeship, taking care of the means to attain the end, fulfilling one's duties before claiming the rights, honesty, self-reliance, non-violent means to resolve a conflict, etc would have to be highlighted.

Cartoon competition: Students will be expected to read any one story in the book “Gandhian Way to Peace” (compilation of 50 lesson modules on Peace Education) and draw six frames of cartoons with suitable dialogue to narrate that story. They can get the book and the details by sending Rs.250/- (if the book is not needed, Rs.50/- only) through the school/college principal.

Story competition: Students will be expected to read any portion in the book “The Story of My Experiments with Truth” ( Gandhiji's Autobiography), explore the value found in it and write a short story based on that value. They can get the book and the details by sending Rs.100/- (if the book is not needed, Rs. 50/- only) through the school / college principal. Best entries in both categories will be awarded Rs.2000/- each. All students will get participation certificates. Both college and school students can join.

Last date: Resgistrations must be done by 30.11.2011 (fee collected will have to be sent by the principal by D.D in favour of “Gandhi Peace Foundation, Madras”). The book and the details will reach the institution before 10.12.2011. Last date for the receipt of all entries is 06.01.2012. The prizes and certificates will be awarded on 30.01.2012.
