Northbound

Uttarakhand has featured in my list of fascinations for long. So this summer, we decided to go there. My excitement knew no bounds.

As we stepped into ‘Devbhumi’, we were welcomed by the mighty Himalayas, bright roses and the sacred Ganga.

We saw the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration at Mussorie. We also had the opportunity to visit the Chota Char Dham comprising Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. We couldn’t go to Yamunotri and Kedarnath as the roads were inaccessible. My mom’s dream came true when we took a dip in the Ganga at Gangotri. The water was freezing and crystal clear. There was snow all around and we took lots of pictures. We also had a chance to savour many delicacies.

Our next destination was Mana from where Bhim Pul, a natural rock bridge, can be seen. Saraswati originates here. The roads to these destinations are frightening as well as exciting as there are deep ravines by the roads. Then we went to Haridwar and Rishikesh.

Our hassle-free adventure came to a pleasant end. I can’t ever forget those beautiful moments.
