Six books titled The Mutiny Novels are about the First War of Independence 1857. These books tell the story from the British perspective and are re-issues. The First War of Independence was a turning point in the history of India and Britian. These novels set in the 19 to early 20 century England capture the anger, anxiety and anguish of the years.

Alice F. Jackson's A Brave Girl tells the story of Joan and Sara, sisters who live with their father in Mhow. Joan is a tomboy and is good with guns, while Sara is a housekeeper. At the time of the uprising they are forced to run away and take sanctuary in an English fort.

Bryda, the books is named after her, lives in England with her uncle Jack. Her parents live in India. She journeys to India to be with her parents. Her arrival coincides with the outbreak of war. Protected and guided by her friendly servant Wazir Ali, Bryda experiences adventure and kindness, fear, love and sympathy.

Eight Days is a story that spans eight days. Khizrabad becomes the scene of English heroism and sacrifice, conspiracy and brutality.

In the Heart of the Storm is a romantic story set at the time of the uprising.

Red Year is a story of a soldier Major Frank Malcolm and Winifred Mayne, the neice of a soldier stationed in Meerut.
