Mango lassi
Keep cool with this refreshing mango lassi. Copious amount of mango pulp and probiotic curd is used to making this cooling drink. It’s refreshing and healthy.
Ingredients
Serves 2-3
> Ripe mangoes, non-fibrous variety - 2
> Thick curd or yogurt, chilled - 1 cup
> Sugar or powdered jaggery or honey, adjust as needed - 1/4 cup
> Powdered green cardamom
> 1 tablespoon rose water, food grade (optional) - 1/2 tsp
> Milk, chilled (optional) - 1/4 cup
> Ice cubes – 6 - 8
Method
Peel the mangoes, dice and blend in a mixer. Add sugar, jaggery or honey to the mango pulp. Blend for two minutes.
Add green cardamom powder and rose water. Blend till smooth.
Add thick curd to the mango mixture. Drop in one or two ice cubes. Run the mixer till all ingredients are blended well.
If the mixture is thick, thin it down by adding milk. Blend for a minute more.
Put one or two ice cubes in a serving glass. Pour lassi into the glass. Stick a straw. Serve immediately.
