Gandhi Peace Foundation, Madras conducted an open-book examination for school students on the book My Experiments with Truth (Gandhiji's Autobiography). The questionnaire contained 20 questions with two divisions in each question.

Q: What are the things that you do not copy from others? Give reasons.

A: I will not copy things like bad behaviour including disrespect of elders, arrogance, and discrimination and insulting some one based on status and so on.

SRUTHI MISSULA DIXIT, IX, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Public School, Hyderabad

Q: Have you ever been embarrassed by telling the truth? What was your reaction?

A: Yes. I was embarrassed when I said the truth but I was relieved of my guilty conscience. It also prevented me from making another mistake of which I would again have felt embarrassed.

SRUTHI SURESH, XI, Seventh Day Adventist H.S.S. Pudussery, Palakkad

Q: Name the two books that made deep impressions in you. What are the impressions?

A: I usually read scientific and quiz books. But spiritual books have always helped me. My Little Book on achievements and You Can have helped me develop my character, optimistic, self-confident and obedient.

SANDRA SATHEESH, IX, Devagiri CMI Public School, Kozhikode

Q: How do you inspire and motivate others?

A: Whenever we had the opportunity to come across uneducated people, I used to educate them on relevant issues or any subject they wanted. This inspired my cousins and friends. We formed a reading club and extended our help to the needy.--

MALAVIKA.M.NAIR, VII-C, St. Peter's S.S.S., Kadayiruppu, Ernakulam

Q: Do you humiliate others? Is it right? What was your reaction when you were humiliated?

A: Injuring one's dignity and self-respect is not a right thing to do. So I don't think to humiliate others. I don't give others a chance to humiliate me. If they would have humiliated me I would have pitied them because the persons who have self-respect won't humiliate others.

G. KRISHNA SARANYA, X, Sri Gowthami Smart School, Rajahmundry

Q: What is your aim in getting educated? Give reason.

A: Education improves our method of thinking and it makes us aware of the things happening around us, and helps us develop basic values.

ESHIKA AGARWAL, IX, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Public School, Hyderabad

Q: Narrate your sweet reminiscence of how human nature shows itself at its best in moments of trial.

A: When I was in Std. IV, we went on a tour. At the end of the tour, my friend and I were thirsty. In my bottle there was a little water but not sufficient for both of us. But there came a third one, thirsty and we gave it to him. We left ourselves thirsty.

ZAINAB, IX B, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Model School, Varkala, Kerala

Q: Is the principle ‘good of the individual is contained in the good of all' found in the book Unto this Last relevant to you? How?

A: It is relevant not only to me but to every one because it is true.

BHIMANOZOLA SHANMUKHI, IX, Sri Gowthami Smart School, Rajahmundry

Q: Do you keep your environment clean? How?

A: I believe in “cleanliness is next to godliness”. My parents have trained me to keep my environment clean. In my home I always sweep and clean.

Q: Suppose you write your autobiography now, what would be the reason?

A: If I were to write my autobiography I would be certainly mentioning in it the way I rectified my mistakes, the way I took decisions, how I reacted this way or the other.
