Coming first at the State level in the National Talent Search Exam for the scholarship granted by the Union Human Resources Ministry is his latest achievement.
He had secured the 17th place at the national level in the same exam.
He came in 83rd at the national level Science Talent Search Exam conducted by the Unified Council. While he grabbed the eighth rank at the State level in National Biotechnology Olympiad, he was 89th at the national level. Adding to the list was the three medals that he won at the FIITJEE National Talent Search Exam. Gautham Krishnan was an eager participant at the Science Talent Camp held at Ernakulam district in 2008.
While Science is his favourite subject, his love for Mathematics was revealed when he won an international level maths exam.
Karate kid
Gautham Krishnan is a yellow belt in karate. He has set his sight on doing higher studies in Astrophysics and cites Stephen William Hawking as his role model. He boasts to have read at this young age all the works of Hawking.
Apart from honing his multifaceted skills, the youngster loves spending time with his little brother Kunjunni. He enjoys reading, watching television and playing interactive video games.
Gautham Krishnan studied at the Cambridge Field School during childhood when his father B. Venugopal moved to London for a while as part of his medical career. He feels that this served to further ignite his interest in science. His mother, Lakshmi and uncle B. Padmakumar, encourage his quest for scientific knowledge.
From his various trips abroad, the images of Big Ben, the great bell of the clock at the north eastern end of the Palace of Westminster in London, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Disney Land, the Colosseum, and St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican remain imprinted in his memory.
