Orange day: At Ravindra Bharathi School, Tirupati

Prof. D.Narayana Rao, Director of Research at SRM University, Chennai, who received the prestigious ‘Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Memorial Award' from Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh at the 98th Indian Science Congress held in Chennai recently, was invited by the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Prof. Rao traced the role of India in the rapid technological and scientific advancements in the recent years and emphasised that passion, hard work and dedication would definitely enhance competence levels. He appealed to the students to make use of the opportunities around them to make it big in life. TTD's Executive Officer I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, (IAS), honoured Prof. Rao, and praised his contributions in the field of atmospheric sciences. Director, Bhavan's, N. Satyanarayana Raju welcomed the guest.

Ravindra Bharathi School celebrated ‘Orange Day' at its Bairagipatteda campus last week. The walls, paintings, robes and everything around were coloured orange. Students were reminded of the treasure endowed by Nature in the form of fruits and the importance of orange fruit in enriching Vitamin ‘C' and enhancing immunity. The event was also aimed at helping little kids in identifying colours, said Principal B.T. Sreedevi.
