Delhi Public School, Sonepat, celebrated its sixth annual day and prize distribution. 2010 is the year of Bio-diversity, keeping this in mind the theme of the function was ‘Life : Discord and Symphony.' The evening began with planting of saplings and a message to maintain and preserve the {lsquo}Emerald' colour of our globe. To witness this ‘Go green' ceremony, the institution came Vinod Rai, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, chief guest A.K.G. Chaudhary, Dr.Jaiswal, a Member of Parliament and beloved grandmas and grandpas of Kartar Singh Vridh Ashram. The plantation ceremony was followed by prize distribution . The prizes were given to the toppers in various subjects and Reading Rocket Award (Nursery to Std V), for 2009-2010. CBSE toppers of the institution were awarded Laptops. The Social Science Department was feted for two consecutive years of successful and best results. (CBSE). The school also gave away rolling trophies for the continuous excellent performance by students in academics as well as sports.

A cultural extravaganza ‘Lakshya' was put up by 400 students of Tagore Public School, Vaishali, to mark their annual day recently. Professor Ramesh K. Arora, ex-head and dean of Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Rajasthan was the chief guest . He released the school magazine Tapas-Vedika. The function began with the choir singing ‘araswati Ganesh Vandana'. Skits like Narsimha and Arjun were performed.

G.D.Salwan Public School, Rajinder Nagar, conducted its Annual Cultural and Athletic Meet with great fervour recently. The evening unravelled to the traditional lighting of the torch followed by a march past of the participating athletes. Following them was the pride of the nation, The Rajputana Rifles Band. Sh. Rakesh Mohan Principal Secretary (Edn.) Government of NCT, Delhi, was the chief guest. Other guests were Janak Juneja (IAS) Retd. , Trustee Salwan Education Trust and Major Gen S.K. Razdan Kirti Chakra,VSM. The highlight of the evening was ‘Mera bharat mahan' which was a plethora of Indian folk and classical dances along with an enthralling light and music show. It was an endeavour to instill patriotism and awareness about our rich cultural heritage in the children. Dances like Roof from Jammu and Kashmir, Manipuri Raas from the North East, Garba from Gujarat , Kal Beliya from the Rajasthan, Bhangra from Punjab, and an amalgam of Bharatnatyam and Kathak known as the Tarana showcased the prodigious talent of the students . It was followed by the prize distribution ceremony. Special awards for excellence in sports, music, art etc were given to the meritorious students.
