Two students, B. Mrinalini and M. Divyasri of Std. XII, representing Vikaasa School, emerged winners at the Limca Book of Records Quiz 2010 Madurai city finals held in Madurai at Vikaasa School recently. The girls held their nerve and romped home winners defeating their nearest rival TVS Matriculation Higher Secondary School.

The inter-school winners will now be fighting it out with 80 schools in the semi finals. The interschool quiz saw 220 students from 42 schools participate in the preliminary round. The preliminary round had interesting questions like name the country which has won the maximum number of FIFA World Cups.

The preliminary round eliminations saw Vikaasa School, TVS Matric H.S. School, Mahatma Montessori School, Mahatma Matric H.S. School, Baba Building and Jeevana School enter the second round.

The first round saw Mahatma School take a marginal lead ahead of Vikaasa School. However, they were not able to keep pace, and both Vikaasa and TVS schools took the lead.

The winners were felicitated with a trophy by Harihara Subramanian, General Sales Manager, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages, Madurai, and A. Sudhakara, Principal, Vikaasa School.
