On a hot sunny afternoon 34 children participated in a painting competition held recently, at Oxford Bookstore. Children between eight and15 years created their look on a t- shirt.
Almost all children were pleasantly surprised as they has just fill in colours on a printed drawing. They were told they could add colours, phrases or catch lines to spice it up. The children had fun as they coloured, wrote poems, catch phrases, decorated their t-shirts and unleashed their creativity.
In the Senior Category (9-15) Naveenraj, Std V student of St. Britto's School won the prize for his t- shirt. His imaginative use of colours and creativity won him this. In the Junior Category it was Taanya a Std IIII student of Lady Andal School walked off with the prize. Her use of colour and the poem penned at the back made her t-shirt stood out. All participants were given a certificate for participation.
EESHA, V, Bahavan's Rajaji Vidyashram: I really liked using my imagination. We were allowed to express it with words too. I loved using my favourite colours green and blue.
JEETENDAR, VIII, Hindu Senior Secondary School: I added a message to my t-shirt. I love nature so I added elements like trees and butterflies to the existing drawing.
AAMNA, III, Good Shepherd: My t-shirt reads “My name is Aamna” that I did to add a personal touch to my painting. I drew another drawing at the back of the t-shirt to make it special. I have used my favourite colour red the most.
AARYA, III, Kids Central: I love to draw at home and my favourite colours are light blue and light green. Colouring my own t-shirt was so much fun.
NAISHA, UKG, Chinmaya Vidyalaya: I go for drawing classes to Thapasya Art School. My favourite colour is maroon. I drew a scenery at the back of my t-shirt too. My t-shirt reads “Smile please”.
