Stamp duty and registration fee charges for a power of attorney

NEW DELHI, April 08, 2013: In a major reform initiative from 1st of April 2008, Delhi government  launched electronic-stamping facility to completely do away with stamp paper of all denominations, and people are paying stamp duty for sworn affidavits, agreement of tenancy, mortgage deeds, power of attorney and other instruments through e-stamping facility. e-stamp papers are tamper-proof and provide a secured electronic payment gateway to the government. Stamp duty and registration charges for the Power of Attorney (POA) document vary in each State. The following are the charges prescribed in various States in India (as on 31.12.2015):
