The upcoming comedy Guddu Rangeela is said to be a tribute to iconic Bollywood friends Jai-Veeru, says the film’s director, Subhash Kapoor.

The national-award-winning director of Jolly LLB fame says the film is about two miscreants who land up biting more than they can chew, getting into a big mess. They run a village band called the Guddu Rangeela Orchestra Party and eke out a living by singing quirky songs that entertain the masses.

Subhash says, “ Guddu Rangeela which stars Amit Sadh and Arshad Warsi, is my tribute to the iconic jodis of Bollywood such as Jai-Veeru, Ram-Lakhan and Karan-Arjun. The duo is lovable, funny and quirky. They are simple and vulnerable, but very intense and gutsy when required.”

Guddu Rangeela is set to release on July 3.
