Sri Rama Navami festival

Sri Rama Navami festival gets under way at Kaettavarampalayam in Tiruvannamalai district on March 31. The village is 18 km from Polur, off Polur-Tiruvannamalai Highway. Sri Rama Bhajanai Mandiram has been celebrating the occasion from 1907, when it was established. The Mandiram that was blessed by Paramacharya conducts the festival with Veda parayanam, laksharchana, discourses, music, annadanam and so on.

This year, the 10-day Sri Rama Navami utsavam begins on Saturday, March 31with Kalasasthapanam. Ekadasi akhanda bhajan will take place on April 4. Sri Sita Kalyanam is on April 6, 4.45 p.m. onwards and Sri Rama Pattabishekam on April 8.

The curtain comes down with Anjaneya utsavam on April 9. Contributions in the form of cheques and DDs drawn in favour of Sree ama Bhajanai Mandiram Trust may be sent to the Trust, Lakshmi Sudhara, 36, Third Street, Abhiramapuram, Chennai 600018, (Phone 45534041) or to Sree Rama Bhajani Mandiram, Kettavarampalayam (via Adhamangalam), Tamil Nadu, 606901.

Maha Rudra Japam

The Mandiram has organised Sri Maharudra Japa Yagnam on April 1, 7 a.m.-12 noon, at the Visalakshi samedha Sri Kasi Kasi Visvanathar temple located on the Kaettavarampalayam Agrahara Street.
