A savant's shatabishekam

The sathabishekam of Pillailokam Sthalasayanathuraivar Swamy was celebrated on October 21. Pillailokam Jeer alias Varadachariar has written vyakyanams for more than 10 religious texts including 'Yatheendra Pranava Prabhavam,' 'Ramanujarya Divya Sarithai' and 'Thiruvoimozhi Nootrandhati.' A Sanskrit scholar who is equally erudite in Tamil, he has worked as a Tamil Pandit for nearly 32 years at the Corporation High School, Chennai. He studied Sri Bashyam and Grandhas and under the guidance of religious scholars such as Karappangadu Venkatachariar Swami, learnt Bhagavad Vishayam. Honours have come his way with titles such as 'Sol Vendhar' and 'Rahasyartha Vivarana Praveenar.' To this day Pillailokam Jeer continues to present discourses.
