On October 11, double Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman returns to his hometown stage for the first time since his success at the Oscars with the Chennai edition of his Jai Ho World Series concert. To be held at 6 pm on the sprawling Marg Swarnabhoomi grounds on the ECR, it will be in aid of The Shakti Foundation, which champions the cause of the physically challenged, a cause that the maestro has been closely involved with.

Donor passes priced at Rs. 300 upwards are available at The Shakti Foundation (26611213), the Marg office (42525252) and at Landmark, Odyssey, Spencer’s Stores, Mega Mart, Gangotree, Health & Glow, Nuts ‘n’ Spices, Hot Breads, Music World, Fruit Shop on Greams Road and Spencer Plaza. For online bookings visit www.margproperties.com.

“Apart from vintage numbers such as ‘Roja’, this concert will definitely be different from the ones I did here earlier,” said Rahman.

A massive 80 by 120 ft stage with pyrotechnics during the show and huge fireworks afterwards are some of the highlights.
