Sreenamasankeerthana Trust, Coimbatore, has been conducting unchavriti bhajans, namasankirtana celestial weddings of divine couples and religious discourses besides offering educational assistance to those deserving. A Bhajanotsavam and namasankirtanam fest were organised by the Trust for ten days from July 17 to 25 at Sree Ayyappan Puja Sangham, Ramnagar.

Namasankirtanam groups from Chennai, Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra rendered bhajans, Pancharatna kritis, Jayadeva’s Ashtapadi, Narayaneeyam, etc. Dolotsavam, celestaial weddings of Andal and Radha-Madhav attracted a huge crowd of devotees on all days.

The performance of Sita kalyanam , on the final day, was the major event. Following this, at a soul-stirring music session Savitha Sriram rendered abhangs (popular in Maharashtra) to the accompaniment of Venkat on the mridangam and Sivakumar on the keyboard. She was given vocal support by Lalitha Ravi and Geetha Narayanan.

Well-aligned to sruti and with perfect coordination, the trio’s melodious presentation of the devotional numbers left the audience with a haunting melody. (Details of the Trust can be had over ph: 0422-4377239 and +91 93631 24265).
