Ramanavami festival

Sri Kothandarama swamy temple, Ram Nagar, Coimbatore.  

Sri Kothandaramasamy Temple, Ramnagar, Coimbatore, stands testimony to people’s devotion for over 80 years now. A renovation of the temple in 2008 saw a towering five-tier rajagopuram and addition of a host of facilities for the convenience of devotees.

The temple strictly follows all Vedic rituals and celebrates all occasions with cultural flavour. Sri Rama Navami is once such occasion for which an elaborate 18-day celebration is being organised featuring various renowned artists who will perform at the pravachana mandapam of the temple.

At Kaettavarampalayam

The 108th year Sri Rama Navami festival gets under way at Kaettavarampalayam in Tiruvannamalai district on April 8. The village is 18 km from Polur, off Polur-Tiruvannamalai Highway. Sree Rama Bhajanai Mandiram Trust that was blessed by Paramacharya has been celebrating the occasion from 1907, when it was established. This year, the 10-day Sri Rama Navami utsavam begins on April 8 with kalasasthapanam. Ekadasi akhanda bhajan will take place on April 11. Sita kalyanam is on April 13, 4 p.m. and Sri Rama Pattabishekam will be on April 16. The curtain draws to a close with Anjaneya utsavam on April 17.
