Paucity of funds

Renovation is on at five different temples at Ramapuram Village, Mappadugai Panchayat, Mayiladuthurai Taluk, Nagapattinam district. Sri Aladi Vinayakar temple, Sri Gangaiamman temple, Sri Visalakshi Ambal Samedha Sri Vishwanathar temple, Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal temple and Sri Veera Anjaneyar temple are the five temples, which needs to be repaired and consecrated. Kumbabishekam was last performed 16 years ago.

As a prelude to the consecration, balalayam was erected in April last. Renovation is being done for the following: Viswanathar vimanam, mandapams for Dakshinamurthy, Durgai Amman and Navagraham and vimanams for Aladi Vinayakar sannidhi, Lakshmi Narayanar sannidhi, and Anjaneyar besides the compound wall, madapalli prakaram and ceiling.

Two separate niches are to be constructed for deities Vinayakar and Subramaniar, a new shrine for Lord Aiyyappa at Viswanathar temple and shrines for deities Rama and Anjaneya at Lakshmi Narayana temple.

The total cost for the renovation work and consecration is estimated at Rs. 40 lakhs.

Apart from these works and the conduct of kumbabishekam, the date of which is yet to be finalised, funds are needed for the maintenance of the temple and conducting daily pujas.

Contributions, in the form of crossed cheque/DD drawn in favour of Ramapuram Temples Tiruppani Committee, may be sent to the secretary/treasurer.
