The Anujan Foundation conducted a special event titled ‘Aranganum Aringnyargalum’ recently to honour yesteryear and present day scholars, who have played a prominent role in promoting Tamil literature centring around Thiru Arangan of Srirangam. The programme also aimed at creating awareness about Nalayiram Divya Prabhandam in the form of dance and music.

The scholars who were honoured included the late Sujatha (aka) Rangarajan; the late Puthur Krishnaswami Iyengar Swami; the late Sthanikam Parthasarathy Iyengar; Venugopalan (aka) Pushpa Thangadhurai and Krishnamachari of Vaishnavasri Publishers.

The three-hour programme will be telecast on Vijay TV soon.
