Refreshing change

It was a delightful Bharatanatyam dance presentation by the students.

The Bharatanatyam items performed by the students of Ch.Harinath, a Bharatanatyam lecturer in S.V.Music and Dance College, Tirupathi came as a refreshing change to the dance lovers. The programme was part of the monthly cultural progamme series titled ‘Nela Nela Vennela’ instituted by A.P. Government Bhasha Samskritika Sangham and G.V.R. Government College of Music and Dance. The programme took place at Gokaraju Laila Gangaraju Kala Vedika situated on the grounds of the Music College. Pushpanjali, alarimpu, jathiswaram, a Thyagaraja Pancharatna kirtana Sadhinchene (Arabhi), an Annamacharya kirtana Indariki Abhayambu and a javali Sakhi Pranasakhi were neatly performed by the disciples Pushpam, Anusha, Meghana and Divya.

Senior disciples Pushpam and Meghana presented pushpanjali and alarimpu with fine abhinaya and footwork. The nritta oriented Jatiswaram which demands intricate footwork was performed by Meghana. Indariki Abhayambu was finely presented with bhava and abhinaya by Pushpam, Indrani, Divya and Durga. The Pancharatna kirtana in Arabhi was presented by Pushpam, Indrani, Divya and Durga with coordination. Finally the javali Sakhi Prana Sakhi was presented by the senior dancer Pushpam with appealing abhinaya.

Efficient nattuvangam by guru Harinath and there was good orchestral support to the delightful dances. The chief guest of the evening Vemula Hazarattiah Gupta, a lawyer was also honoured during the occasion.
