The UN Women photo competition on the theme Freedom from Violence generated a vast variety of images

The camera focuses on a burqa-clad woman who is immersed in playing soccer in a Kolkata park on a Sunday afternoon. This is one of the 13 winning entries of UN Women’s Freedom from Violence photo competition. The photograph has been clicked by Sudipto Das.

Through the competition, UN Women encouraged young people to show the world what freedom from violence against women meant to them. The competition is part of the UN Secretary General's UNiTE to End Violence against Women and Girls campaign. The jury consisted of Sushma Kapoor from UN Women, Sonali Khan of the organisation Breakthrough and photographer, Raghu Rai.

The winning photographs will be on display in the Capital till March 18.
