Japanese government scholarships

MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) is offering scholarships to international students who want to study in Japan. They will get an opportunity to study at a specialised training college, a college of technology and a university (undergraduate level). The scholarships are being offered for three years, four years and five years, respectively, effective from April 2016.

Candidates born between April 2, 1994 and April 1, 1999 are eligible to apply.

Candidates will be selected through an examination that will be held in the premises of the Consulate-General of Japan, Chennai. Prior knowledge of Japanese language is not compulsory. The results of the final selection, made by MEXT, will be sent to the selected candidates by February, 2016. The deadline for submitting the application is June 17.
