Creating a bio-habitat at OMR

In an effort to conserve water bodies, Akshaya Private Ltd, in partnership with Environmentalist Foundation of India (EFI), has initiated a project aimed at sensitizing the general public. An interactive nature walk and nest installation was organised on July 8.

The nature walk was a guided tour for the participants in discovering lost nature quest and creating habitat in OMR near Kazhipattur River.

The nest installation saw three different kinds of nests set up to cater to the resident birds.

Over 100 kids and parents took part in installing over 12 nests of three categories for 13 different species of birds and also home to the Indian Bond turtles.

The nature-awareness activities were celebrated with kids getting an opportunity to venture into diversity of ecosystems.

It included events such aswatching butterflies, storks, ibis, egrets and a whole range of green walk along the Kazhipattur River restored by volunteers of Environmentalist Foundation of India supported byAkshaya, was also included.
