PG admissions of TNAU all set to begin

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to the masters' programmes in 28 disciplines and Ph. D. programmes in 27disciplines for 2011-12 academic year.

The programmes are offered at the university as well as its constituent colleges in Coimbatore, Madurai, Killikulam, and Mettupalayam, according to the Dean of the School of Post Graduate Studies C. Udayasoorian.

The two new masters' programmes are agricultural nanotechnology and environmental engineering. These are being offered in Coimbatore.

TNAU is also offering a dual-degree masters programmes in food processing and marketing, and biotechnology and business management, jointly with the Cornell University, the U.S. Students admitted to master's programme have the option to pursue the degree – MPS (Master of Professional Studies) – in Food Science and Plant Breeding or MS in any science related to agriculture at the Cornell University, the U.S.

Applications can be downloaded from the website www.tnau.ac.in. Candidates have to register, fill in and a print out of the filled-in applications should be sent along with all enclosures and application fee as Demand Draft (Rs. 850 for each subject, Rs. 425 for SC / ST candidates) to Dean, School of Post Graduate Studies, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore – 641003. Separate application fee has to be sent for each subject.

Last date for receipt of filled in applications for master's programme is June 22. Entrance test will be held on July 1. Selection list will be released on July 21. Payment of fee is on August 8 and course begins on August 16.
