Modern management thoughts and the ancient Indian concept of education ‘Gurukula’ may not strike chord as they are as diverse as cheese and chalk. But the thought of modern managers created in the Gurukula concept itself makes the fusion of this diversity intriguing.
There are no better management concepts than those found in Indian scriptures, in its mythological characters or ancient Indian philosophers.
“And I believe in the fusion of ancient Indian management practices and the modern day management gurus teachings for the creation of managers who can deal with the world issues today confidently,” says Prof. S. Pratap Reddy, Chairman of Dhruva College of Management.
Prof. Reddy, who spoke at the 20 year celebrations of the Dhruva College of Management that he started after quitting the university job said that there is a need to create an ambience where students and teachers live in close proximity and learning is a continuous process.
“Teaching-learning process here is a way of life.”
The business school with three lakh square feet of built up area ensures that students are exposed to the wider world by way of industry internships, interface with academic and business leaders and participation in management meets across the length and breadth of the country.
Thanks to these practices, Prof. Reddy said Dhruva is retained as the sole principal co-investigator for the Global Leadership and Organisational Behaviour Effectiveness (GLOBE) project of Wharton School of Business, USA.
The school offers PGDM-HR, Finance, Marketing, BIFAAS, Business Analytics, Event, Tourism and Hospitality Management courses at a tuition fee of Rs. 4.25 lakh that includes study material, books on loan, internship abroad on merit, foreign language coaching, insurance cover, soft skills training and local educational and Industrial tour.
The Wi-Fi enabled campus also has separate hostel for girls and boys.
