The U.K. government has set up a taskforce to help the international students at the LMU. The taskforce comprises the UK Border Agency, the Department of Business, Universities UK and the higher education funding body HEFCE and the National Union of Students. The taskforce members are expected to go through the student profile of LMU international students and assist all the legitimate students in finding admission to an alternate university, Mr. NIthavrianakis, British Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai said.
He was addressing the Indian students at the farewell party organised by the British High Commission for students from South India who had secured admission in UK. on September 4.“The LMU issue will not affect the British higher education sector. The country has many number of world class universities and we welcome international students with great aspiration to study in Britain. It is only those students who do not have the right motivation and do not posses the skill required to pursue the chosen who will be facing difficult situation at the LMU,” Mr. Nithavrianakis said.
