‘Jubilee’ convocation: The 25th Graduation Day of Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology (TTIT) was held on September 7. Vasagi, former Vice-Chancellor of Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, who inaugurated the programme, underlined the importance of having knowledge about basic principles of science which will help anybody to work anywhere. He called upon new graduates to give priority to work with Indian firms instead of toiling for foreign companies.

Kolar Gold Fields Superintendent of Police H.R. Bhagavandas exhorted students to inculcate humanitarian values. Golden Valley Education Trust chairman T. Venkatavardhan announced that a gold medal and Rs. 1 lakh cash prize will be given to a meritorious student of the college from this academic year.

TTIT principal Syed Arif participated.

State level seminar: Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Vice-Chancellor Dr. K.S. Ravindranath has said that bio-chemistry will play a pivotal role in analysing properly the diagnosed diseases and prescribing medicines.

He was inaugurating a State-level seminar on “Laboratory Medicine and Research” at Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College at Tamaka here recently. Hyderabad’s laboratory medicine expert Dr. K. Shanti Naidu spoke on the objectives of the seminar.
