Applications invited for civil services exam

The Union Service Public Commission will conduct the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2010 on May 23 for recruitment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and certain other Group ‘A' and Group ‘B' Central services/posts.

The candidates must apply in the common application form made available by the commission for its examinations, said an official release. It can be purchased from designated head post offices/post offices (specified in Appendix-III of the Notice published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar).

In case candidates find it difficult to obtain the application forms from the HPOs/ POs they should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or the UPSC's Form Supply Monitoring Cell over telephone (no.011-23389366/FAX No.011-23387310).

All applications must reach the Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110 069 on or before February 1, 2010. The applications can be delivered by hand or by Post/Speed Post or courier. For candidates living abroad or in certain remote areas specified in the Notice, the last date for receipt of applications by post/speed post only (not by hand or courier) is February 8, 2010. For information or clarification regarding their applications, candidates can contact UPSC's Facilitation Counter near the ‘C' Gate of its campus in person or over telephone (no. 011-23385271/011-23381125/011-23098543) on working days between 10 am and 5 pm. Candidates can get details of the examination and information about registration of their applications, venue of the examination and results from the UPSC Website: >http://www.upsc.gov.in .
