AIEEE 2009 admission: CBSE’s advice to students

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has advised students that any individual issues pertaining to AIEEE 2009 admissions should be referred to the Central Counselling Board (CCB) and not the CBSE itself.

The CBSE said it played a role in the conduct of AIEEE 2009 only till the results were declared. It was the CCB that was responsible for conducting the counselling for eligible students.

This was the pattern prescribed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2008 for the conduct of the examination.

The CBSE was being made party to “a number of requests and court cases” by candidates who “could not lock their choices for taking admissions in B.Arch/B. Planning on the basis of the score/marks obtained at AIEEE 2009 due to non-awareness/incomplete knowledge for locking the choices through online.” However, “all cases relating to counselling and admission will be dealt with by the CCB,” it said. Students should take up correspondence relating to admissions to different institutions like NITs, IITs, deemed universities and other institutions with the CCB.
