Thirupoonthuruthy Narayana Tirtha Swamigal Trust has been celebrating the Jayanti Festival of the Saint composer in association with Narada Gana Sabha Trus and Saraswathy Vaggeyakara Trust every year as a two-day festival.

This year, the trust has decided to celebrate the 337th Jayanti as ‘Youth Festival’ on June 29 and 30 at Narada Gana Sabha Mini Hall. All vocalists who have been selected to participate are below 30. Each one has been given a slot of 90 minutes with a list of geetams to be presented from Krishna Leela Tarangini. In each concert there will be a couple of compositions which are rarely sung, in an attempt to popularise more geetams of the Tarangini.

The festival will start with Veda Parayanam on June 29. Visalakshi Viswanathan will light the traditional lamp. R. Krishnamoorthy, trustee of Saraswati Vaggeyakara Trust, will preside. Dr Sriram Parasuram will be the chief guest. Lakshmi Venkatesan will welcome the guests.

On June 30, A. Ramji, patron of the trust, will deliver the valedictory address.
