Run this MADathon

AIESEC, a youth-run organisation, is conducting the second edition of MADathon (Making A Difference marathon) on June 14 to raise funds for child welfare. The event is organised by student volunteers from various colleges. This year, AIESEC members have partnered with Chennai Turns Pink to create awareness about breast cancer.

Haritha Mohan, a second-year student-volunteer, says, “The best part about the event is that when a person participates and runs beside a five-year-old from an NGO that has partnered with AIESEC, he/she runs knowing that a difference if being made in the life of a child.” Funds raised through the event will be used for AIESEC’s Project Footprints, where children from 15 NGOs will be benefited.

Participants can choose among the four runs — 3km, 5km, 10km and 21km — which starts from Island Grounds.

Chirag Samdaria, another volunteer, says, “Our measure of success does not merely lie in raising funds for the five-week long project, but also in highlighting the cause and satisfying each runner on that day.”

The passes are priced at Rs.800 and the runners would be provided with a t-shirt, a bib, refreshments, a medal and an e-certificate.

Online registrations can be made through .The last date for online registration is June 7. On-the-spot registration is also available on payment of an extra fee.
