The only time war is fun

If you had been living under a cave yesterday, here’s some news.

A two-day paintball tournament is under way at YMCA Nanadanam. It is in fact concluding today. The event is being organised by Zebkart.com, Revive Design Solutions and Paintball Series India.

“Everyone is glued to their laptops and mobile phones, playing games. We wanted to promote a game where people can come outdoors and physically drain themselves while engaging in a fun activity,” says Mallika Chaudhuri from Revive Design Solutions.

Mallika confesses that she is a paintball addict.

“Whenever I have free time or whenever I want to clear my head, I play paintball. I wanted to promote it in India and discussed the idea with Jeetendra Chippa of zebkart.com and we ended up planning this event.”

“On Saturday, we had people coming in to play with their friends and today, tournaments are being conducted for corporate and college tournaments. Those who want to play today with their friends can come too. The charges are Rs. 350 per person for just playing and Rs. 1000 for participating in the tournament.”

A whooping cash prize is out there to be won. The winning team will take away Rs. 40,000 and the team that comes second, Rs. 10,000.

Paintball offers multiple benefits, which de-stress and honing strategising and planning skills.

Mallika plans to initiate steps to further popularise the game in the city. “We plan to organise more such tournaments and identify talents and train them for bigger opportunities.”
