Vishwaroopam’s release

Kamal Haasan’s much-awaited action thriller Vishwaroopam is to release on January 11, 2013, making the contest at the box office for Pongal thrilling. For long, the filmmaker kept his cards close to his chest, giving no hint about when he intended to release the film. Vishwaroopam , made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, features Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose and Jaideep Ahlawat, apart from Kamal, in the lead. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have scored the music. The film also boasts of Auro 3D sound, a concept relatively new to India.

MSV and Yuvan come together

T hillu Mullu , the remake of the Superstar’s popular hit by the same name, has been hogging the limelight for a number of reasons, including its music, which is being scored jointly for the first time by veteran music director M. S. Viswanathan and Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Now, sources close to the unit say the duo has composed five songs for the film. They add that the film’s unit is in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to shoot a couple of songs there, one of which will be picturised on Siva and Isha Talwar, who play the lead. Directed by Badri, the film is expected to be completed by January next year.

SAC’s suggestion

Veteran producer S. A. Chandrasekhar, who is actor Vijay’s father, believes parents should let their children pursue a career of their choice.

Speaking at a press conference organised by the team of Sattam Oru Iruttarai , the veteran director said, “I wanted my son Vijay to become a doctor. However, he was intent on becoming an actor. So, we helped him become one. I believe parents must allow their children to become what they want. Similarly, children must work hard to realise their dreams. Vijay, after deciding to become a hero, would wake up at 4 in the morning to attend classes in horse riding and stunts. He equipped himself to realise his dream and today, he is a successful actor.”

Rajini congratulates Karthik Subbaraj

Young filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, whose film Pizza seems to be doing well at the box office, is on cloud nine. The reason for his excitement is understandable, for the Superstar himself called him up to congratulate him on the success of his film.

Karthik tweeted, “Thalaivar (Rajnikanth) called me and said he watched Pizza and (that) it was “Excellent”. Wow! What a moment! Thanks Thalaivaaaaaa! You are Great!”
