Damsel in distress

Guess who's too delicate to handle dizzying heights? Sameera Reddy developed breathing trouble in Ladakh during the shoot of a song for her upcoming Tamil project “Vedi”, and apparently fell unconscious. Thankfully, Vishal, whom she's paired with in the film, came to the rescue of the damsel in distress.

Says Sameera: “I guess the place was ‘breathtakingly' beautiful! Thankfully, the production crew had oxygen in store. And, big help came from Vishal who immediately rushed me to the nearest hospital. The shoot was stopped for a few hours.”

Music is where the heart is

Music director S.S. Kumaran, who switched to direction and production for “Theneer Viduthi”, says music is what he'll focus on. Why the change of heart? “I started off with cinematography, and got into music composing for ‘Poo'. The songs were a hit. However, when I got into direction, people thought I'd not get back to music. How can I not? That's my bread and butter, and I'll continue making music. In fact, I have a couple of projects in hand for composing music,” says Kumaran.

Beauty queen in “Billa 2”

Another beauty queen joins Tamil tinseltown. Parvathy Omanakkuttan, first runner up at Miss World 2008, will play Ajith's love interest in his much-hyped next, “Billa 2”. Also joining the cast is Bruna Abdullah, an Indian model of Brazilian origin, known for her role in “I Hate Luv Storys” and solo song performance in “Cash”. Ajith's 51st film is expected to be released next April.
