Cricket mania hits cinema

If you haven't had your fill of cricket with the ICC World Cup and the IPL Season 4, Salman Khan's brother Sohail announced the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), last week. Promoted by Sohail Khan Entertainment, it will be cricket once again, the difference being that actors will be the players this time. Four teams — Bollywood, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu — will be at war, with Suniel Shetty heading the Mumbai Heroes and Salman Khan as Icon Player! The Kannada team will be captained by Sudeep, the Tamil team by Suriya and Telugu by Venkatesh. The matches will be played next month in Bengaluru, Chennai, Vishakapatnam and Hyderabad.

Getting rowdy

How would you react to this piece of news? Sanjay Leela Bhansali is going to produce an action film titled “Rowdy Rathore”. “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”, “Black”, “Saawariya, and now, “Rowdy Rathore”. It sticks out like a sore thumb, doesn't it? The news is that Akshay Kumar will be doing hardcore stunts in this one. It is going to be Prabhudeva's second film in Bollywood after “Wanted” and designer Shabinaa Khan turns first-time producer with the film which she is co-producing with Bhansali.

Home sweet home

SRK is known to keep his house Mannat out of bounds for cameras. So great is the curiosity about it that there have often been emails doing the rounds with pictures of what Mannat's interior looks like. But, this time, the actor made an exception for a television soap that wanted him to appear in a cameo as a reality show judge. SRK was hard-pressed for time and allowed the channel to put up the set at Mannat! The look has been changed beyond recognition to resemble a reality show set.
