Seven years after the blockbuster hit Sandakozhi , director Linguswamy is all set to launch Sandakozhi 2 with Vishal again in the lead. “The first film completed 225 days in Tamil and became a huge hit in Telugu. I decided then that there should be a Part 2 of the movie. Dialogue writer S. Ramakrishnan also felt the same and approached me with a few ideas and a sketchy story line. That stirring turned into a whirlwind and here I am deciding on the project,” says Linguswamy.

While the film is not a sequel, there will be some elements that connect the two films. Vishal is a central factor to the project — Linguswamy had decided that if he were to feature Vishal in a project again, it would be as part of Sandakozhi 2 . “The storyline will be different but it will have all the ingredients that made the first one such a huge hit. While Meera Jasmine played the heroine in the first, I am yet to decide on the heroine for part 2. In fact, most of the other cast and crew are yet to be finalised but we will be ready to roll in a few weeks. It is a good feeling… the overall mood is exuberant,” says an excited Linguswamy who is gearing up for the Hindi version of Vettai .
