What they say…
Producer Ravindar Chandrasekaran: Libra Productions is the outcome of my passion for films. I am an IT support provider for the United Nations Organisation. While listening to scripts, I came across Sutta Kadhai . I felt this would be my trump card. The success of Sutta Kadhai will provide a platform for the other projects lined up under the Libra banner.
Director Subu: I am an architect. My creative flair has landed me in cinema. My short stint with corporate films equipped me with practical knowledge required for this trade. I have been a songwriter with the band Oxygen, and for a few other independent musicians based out of Chennai. This got me my ticket to tinsel town as lyricist for Aarohanam directed by Lakshmi Ramakrishnan. I simultaneously pitched the story idea of Sutta Kadhai to Libra Productions and once it clicked, there was no looking back.
Hero Venky In Sutta Kadhai , I play Sangili, a constable with partial hearing impairment. Director Subu and I are friends. He has seen my performances with my theatre company ‘Stray Factory’ and felt I would fit the bill. Working on the film has been a learning experience, considering my co-stars range from the veteran Nasser to my theatre contemporary Lakshmi Priya.
Prashanth Techno and Harish Venkat: We formed Madley Blues, a music production company, in 2012. We have been in the independent music scenario playing across different bands. This induced in us a penchant for live music with no compromise on the entertainment factor. We have engaged great musicians for Sutta Kadhai. We had a splendid start by recording the legendary M.S. Viswanathan for a song. We hope to make a marked difference in the film music scene.
