What it is about…
For the first time in the Tamil film industry, Emersiigns Productions’ Kadhal Solla Aasai has launched its music completely in the digital format. The songs and ringtones are available online and not in the form of CDs. Kadhal Solla Aasai is a love story featuring Ashok, Madhu Raghuram, M.S. Baskar, “Naan Kadavul” Rajendran, Ravi Raghavendra, Ravi, Manimaran, Suganya, Daniel and Siva. Directed by K.S. Tamil Seenu, the film has cinematography by Jacob Rathinaraj, music by S. Lekha, art by S. Madhavan, and stunts by ‘Fire’ Karthik. The audio was released by director and producer Keyar and received by director S.J. Soorya and actor Vijay Sethupathi.
Music highlights
There are six numbers in the album of which the last, ‘Pain of Love,’ is the theme. Two songs are written by Pa. Vijay and both are good. While his ‘Thamizhachi Thamizhachi’ is sung by Achu, ‘Madai Thiranthu’ is rendered by Suraj. The other three are written by the director — while ‘Enna Maayam Seithayo’ is mesmerising in Chinmayi’s voice, ‘Ramaiya Osthavaiya,’ sung by Velmurugan, M.K. Balaji, Senthil Das and Krishnamurthy is quite enjoyable. ‘Yen Uyire Nee’ is a beautiful number by Yasin.
What they say…
Producers S. Rajalakshmi and S. Vijayalakshmi: We are sisters and have had a passion for cinema from a young age. After completing engineering, we thought of doing a film together. That was when we met Nalaya Iyakkunar Thamizh Seenu. We liked his story idea and went ahead with producing this film.
Director Thamizh Seenu: I am a sound engineer. It was at the instance of friends such as music director S. Lekha and editor K. Riyaz that I participated in the Nalaya Iyakkunar show on TV. And this film is only a natural progression.
Hero Ashok:Kaadhal Solla Aasai is my fourth film after Murugaa, Pidichirukku and Kozhi Koovuthu . It has a beautiful screenplay. I am also acting in Ula under the direction of Rajan Madav of Muran fame, Vanam Partha Seemaiyile directed by J.P. Azhagar and Priyamudan Priya directed by Jujith.
Music director S. Lekha: I started my music career at the age of 12 with the S.A. Chandrasekar-directed Nalaya Theerpu and set the record for being the youngest music director. I used to accompany my brother, music director Keeravani, to learn the nuances of music. I have done music direction for 73 films in Telugu and have sung 4,000 songs. Kaadhal Solla Aasai is my second film in Tamil. As director Thamizh Seenu was working with me as a sound engineer, he wanted me to score the music for his debut film. I told him that I would take it up only if I liked the story. I am glad to have involved myself with the project as I am getting a lot of appreciation from different quarters for the songs.
