Who’s the new baddie in K-Town? Anbumozhi may be playing a police inspector in Vennilavin Arangetram , but would rather be known for his role as the main villain in Bommai Nayagan . He says, “However, it’s my role as villain in Ayalan that’s immediately releasing which has really satisfied me. In the forthcoming Moolavar, I am engaged in frequent altercations and sparring with Prabhu, who plays the hero's father. My character as a villain acquires a new dimension in the film,” says an excited Anbumozhi.

Spotlight on women

Post-censorship, director M. A. Ramakrishnan's Pongadi Neengalum Unga Kaadhalum , in which he also plays the lead role, is set for release on January 24. After acting in two earlier films — Kungumapoovum Konjum Puravum and Goripalayam , Ramakrishnan turns director with this film which is heroine-centric. “I am proud to say that the Censor Board officials were appreciative of the content of the film which highlights the plight of women in today’s society. Through my film I wish to alert women to the dangers of social networking and messaging, especially as their profiles could get into the wrong hands. Also, fathers should spend sufficient time with their daughters so that the latter don't feel neglected or ignored, which is often a reason why they to take to networking or texting for company,” says Ramakrishnan. His heroine is Athmiya, earlier seen in Manam Kothi Paravai.

A musical treat

The audio of Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah has just hit the market and music director Gibran is excited. Says Gibran: “When director Anis narrated the script to me I knew it offered me the scope to come up with a musical treat. Lyricists Parvathy, Karthik Nehta, Thenmozhi Das, Kadhal Mathi and Munna Shoukat Ali have paved the way with their pen for singers Bonnie Chakraborty, Nivas, Isai Mazhalai Harish, Ashwitha, Yazin Nizar, Shadab Faridi, Sundar Narayana Rao and Chinmayee to give their best. Further, the songs have been picturised well on Jai and Nazriya and this enhances film.”
