Calling filmmakers

International Film Festival of Thrissur and Exposure Campus Film Club, Thrissur hold ‘Chaaya-13’, a national-level short film and documentary competition. ‘Chaaya-13’ aims at encouraging up-and-coming filmmakers by recognising their talent. The three-day festival, which begins on May 30, will showcase fresh experiments in visual medium from across the country.

Entries are invited for the following categories – documentary, short film and spot film.

In the documentary category, awards will be given for best documentary feature and two runner ups, for best director, best cinematographer, best editor and best narrator. The entries should not be more than 60 minutes long.

In the short film section, awards will be given to the top three short films, plus best director, best cinematographer, best editor best actor (male), best actor (female), best script and best art director. The short films should not be more than 30 minutes long.

The Spot film can be no more than 10 minutes long. Awards will be given to the top three spot films, best director, best cinematographer, best editor, best actor (male), best actor (female), best script and best art director.

Details and guidelines for application are available online at www.chaaya.in. The last date of submission is May 10, 2013.

There will be a segment of short films and documentaries by master film makers, discussions with professional filmmakers and writers during the fete.
