What it is about…
PVP Cinema's Naan Ee, directed by S. S. Rajamouli, has Nani, Sudeep, Samantha and Santhanam in the lead roles. Senthil Kumar has handled the camera and Maragathamani has scored the music. Ravinder has taken care of the art department. Crazy Mohan has penned the dialogue and Madhan Karky, the lyrics. Kotagiri Venkateswar Rao is the editor. The audio of Naan Ee was recently released by Surya and Karthi in the presence of directors Bala, Lingusamy, Parthiban and Samuthirakani. The film, also made in Telugu, is about a villain who kills the hero. The hero is reborn as a fly which happens to remember its previous birth. The rest of the story is about how it irritates the villain and takes revenge on him. It is an experimental film with mainstream emotions.
There are five songs in the album, all melodious ones. ‘Veesum Velichathile,' sung by Karthik and G. Sahithi, comes first. ‘Eedaa Eedaa,' sung by Ranjith, has a a beautiful piece on the violin by Thyagaraju. There's a remix version of the song in the voices of Ranjith, Deepu, Rahul Sipliguni, Sravana Bhargavi and A. Chaithra. Vijay Prakash has rendered ‘Konjam Konjam' well — here Revanth has provided the backing vocals. ‘Lava Lava' is a good number sung by Achu along with Sivani.
What they say…
Producer Prasad V. Potluri: When director Rajamouli, a known name in the Telugu film industry, came up with the story of a fly taking revenge, it sounded fresh and I decided to produce the film. A fantasy, each and every frame will be a treat to people of different age groups. What's more, the twists and turns in the screenplay will sustain their interest.
Director S. S. Rajamouli: This is the first time the audience will get to watch the story of a fly taking revenge. For the sake of the film, I learnt how many varieties of fly exist in the world. A blend of love, sentiment and stunning visuals will make the film interesting to watch. Do I need to say it will be a laugh riot what with Crazy Mohan penning the dialogue?
Music director Maragathamani: I am coming back to Tamil cinema after some years. This film will surely be an aural and visual treat. The music is a big plus, the songs and the background score mesmerising.
Hero Nani: This is my second film after Veppam . Though I appear for just half an hour in the film, its impact will be felt in every scene as I am the person who takes revenge in the form of a fly. It's my desire to do more Tamil films.
