Athalal Kadhal Seiveer

What it is about…

Nallu Studios Athalal Kadhal Seiveer is a college love story with a difference. It has Santhosh and Manisha in the lead with new find Arjun, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Jayaprakash, Ramnath Shetty and Thulasi playing supporting roles. Eight college students from Loyola College and M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women have acted in the film. The camera is handled by Surya, the dialogues are written by Clyton, the music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, editing is by Antony, art by Jayachandran. The film is produced by Saravanan with story, screenplay and direction by Suseendran. The first audio CD was released by actor Mohan and received by director-actor K.Bhagyaraj.

Music highlights

There are five songs in the album of which one is repeated. The stamp of Yuvan Shankar Raja is evident throughout. As the film is about love and the emotional upheavals it causes, the songs also capture these sentiments. Lyricist Yugabharathi has written two numbers . The best is ‘Mellasrithal Kathal Than’, sung by the music director himself. It is the first and last song in the album. ‘Alaipayum Nenchile’, sung by Udit Narayanan, is good, while ‘Thappu Thanda Pannum Vayasu’, written by Vaali, and sung by Javed Ali and Bhavadarini is one for the masses. ‘Poovum Poovum’, sung by Vijay Yesudas and Vinaitha, and written by Francis Kruba, is a number you would want to listen over and over again.

What they say…

Producer Saravanan

Being director Suseendran's brother, I had the privilege of working as production manager for films such as Adukalam , Azhagar Samiyin Kudirai , Rajapattai. I am producing my own movie now with the help of my brother. Normally love stories click at the box office, that’s why I chose one to start with and I’m happy it has come out well.

Director Suseendran

From Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu to Rajapattai, I’ve done different kinds of movies. I don’t want my films to be similar. Adhalal is a college love story; the second half of the film is particularly different and I’m confident it will appeal to cinegoers. Both Santhosh and Manisha suit their role of college-going youngsters to a T.

Hero Santhosh

I am a third-year visual communications student at Loyola College. I met director Suseendran, while the shooting of Rajapattai was in progress. When I got a call from him, it was the happiest moment in my life. He has become my mentor. Seeing myself on screen is like a dream-come-true.

Music Director Yuvan Shankar Raja

When the director approached me to score the music for a love story, I was delighted. Music is divine; so is love. When it is a love story the tunes automatically fall into place; the songs come to life in the romantic sequences. Those who’ve heard the tracks have conveyed their appreciation.
