Myra, the effervescent Jessica of No One Killed Jessica , is new to the ways of showbiz. “Life has not been too different after the film's release, maybe because I am a homebound person. All this recognition is just beginning to sink in. I've been getting a number of friends request on Facebook and there have been a lot of twitter mentions about my role,” she says with a smile.

Prior to NOKJ , Myra's world was far removed from showbiz. After completing her engineering, she was busy preparing for CAT when her friend and director Rajkumar Gupta asked her to play Jessica. “He wanted to cast a fresh face. He felt that I had the same persona as Jessica and approached me. But I wasn't keen at all. He asked me to read the script and take a call. It was such a powerful script and had the promise of being a sensible movie that I could refuse,” says Myra.

She was the surprise package of the movie and had no qualms with her identity not being revealed until the film's release. “Apart from the film unit and my parents, no one knew I was acting. I didn't even tell my friends. I never wanted to be an actress and wasn't dying to tell the world about my role. Now I feel blessed when people say that they would have loved to see more of me in the film,” she says.

Her brief was to be herself in front of the camera. “So Rajkumar didn't want me to go through an acting workshop. I too loved the idea of being spontaneous. In many ways I am like Jessica — bold and daring,” she says. Her spontaneity was in contrast to the preparation done by Vidya Balan, with whom she shared most of her screen space. “She (Vidya) emotes so well. She is an amazing actress and I was lucky to work with her.”

Offers are pouring in and Myra is biding her time. “I'd like to try my best at cracking CAT. I see myself becoming a business woman. If an intriguing role comes my way, then perhaps I shall give it a shot,” she says, not ruling out the possibility of acting.
