How many times have you gone to the cinemas and returned without getting a ticket? And how many times have you sat with the receiver in hand, trying to reserve your tickets for a movie, in vain? No need to tear your hair any more in disappointment. Here is a better option that has just been introduced.
Easy way
The Shenoys Group of theatres has come up with an easy way to reserve your tickets. They have launched a unique pre-paid card, named ‘e-fuel' that will enable movie buffs book tickets at its website www.shenoys.in
The card is on sale at all the four theatres of the group – Sridar, Padma, Shenoys, and Little Shenoys. They have plans to make the cards available across the city. Reserving tickets at these theatres using the cards is open.
Talking about the concept, V.R. Ramkumar, manager, Shenoys Group of theatres says, “The e-fuel card was a concept we worked on when we decided to update our website last month. We tested this concept and found it was successful.” This system, he added, was the first of its kind in the State.
The cards are available in denominations of Rs. 300, Rs. 500, and Rs. 1,000 with one year validity and will work basically like the mobile phone recharge coupons.
The card will have a secret key. The buyer will then have to login to the website (first time users will have to sign in which would be complete by providing the code sent to your cell phone) and click on the link ‘recharge fuel' given on the left hand side of the home page. The secret key has to be filled into the space provided and the amount, after deducting a service charge, would be credited to your account the confirmation of which will be received in your mobile phone. Confirmation can also be seen in your message inbox provided on the website. Your balance can also be viewed through the e-fuel tracking link.
For instance on recharging the card worth Rs. 500, your account will be credited with Rs. 475. Those who want to recharge the e-fuel through credit or debit cards would have to continue that option in the website under the link ‘purchase e-fuel.'
Advance reservations
Advance reservations for ‘Raavan' are on at Sridar and Padma. “For this film, you can reserve seats a day before the premiere show. From then on tickets can be booked online using these cards, or at the theatres three days in advance,” informs Ramkumar.
The launch of these cards will coincide with the release of the Mani Ratnam film ‘Raavan.' The Hindi version of the movie will be screened at Sridhar, the Tamil version at Padma and Shenoys from Friday. Both these versions will be screened at the cinemax screens at Oberon Mall also.
