He's a cricketer, an actor and the Vice Chairman of JMJ Groups – and he's only 26 years old. And this weekend, he will be playing in the star-studded T20 tournament with the stars of the Telugu film industry, as a member of Chiranjeevi's Cheetahs. Sachiin Joshi is definitely a man who wears many hats.

Sachiin's story is an exciting one with humble beginnings. Growing up in Pune, he did his MBA. “I dabbled in every kind of activity as a child,” says Sachiin. “I wanted to take up everything that came my way. I always wanted to experiment and I had this daring streak in me.”

Being the only son of his parents, Sachiin's obvious choice was joining the family business, but his creative side wanted more. “My energies couldn't stop there. I wanted to go beyond being just a businessman. I've been more of an entrepreneur.”

Having diversified into industries like hospitality, tour and travel, and mineral water, Sachiin also plays a major role in the cinema industry. His project with Percept Picture Company is being touted as a big thing in India cinema. On this, Sachiin says, “Yes, it's an interesting film project. The film is being directed by Prashant Chadda, with Salim-Sulaiman handling the music, and is being made in six regional languages. Percept is producing it, and it's a huge action cinema shot in five countries over 110 days. It's a huge responsibility.” The film is being slated for release in 2011.

However, despite his prowess at multitasking, sports will always be one of Sachiin's true loves. “Sports are actually a part of my growing years,” Sachiin says. “The energy of just participating gives me a huge adrenaline rush. It's not just an extracurricular activity for me, I always had to be playing at some level of competition.”

Sachiin is also open to owning a team or playing some sort of role in the future IPL editions. He has his own team in the Maharashtra Premier League, the Shivneri Lions, who played their first season last month in Pune. His company also owns the title rights to the Commonwealth Boxing Championships.

His stint in Telugu films was neither planned nor accidental. “Some of my father's friends were involved in financing and producing Telugu films,” Sachiin explains. “They proposed that I be a part of it too, and I was excited to show my talent and everything fell into place. I acted in three Telugu films: Mounamelananoyi , Ninu choodaka nenundalenu , and Orey Pandu .” Sachiin is firm on his admiration for the members of the Telugu film community, especially their willingness to “support a cause, no matter how big or small. They are all good people at heart with a lot of discipline.”'
