How did it happened?

I wanted to be a singer and had written a few songs and used to sing them. My friend saw the lyrics and felt I was good and should concentrate on making a career out of it. We met director Muppalaneni Siva, who was making a new movie. That was the first phase of my career as a lyricist. The next two phases were when we met producer Ramanaidu and music director Srilekha. The tune was given to me and I was asked to write lyrics for it. The movie was Tajmahal and the song I wrote was: Manchu Kondallona Chandramaa Chandhanalu Challi Po

How was the experience?

The experience couldn't be described in words. I used to sing the songs of lyricists like Sirivennela Seetharamasastry and Bhuvanachandra and in my debut movie as a lyricist, I got an opportunity to share space with them. Balu and Chitra whom I admire a lot sang my lyrics.

It was a new feeling and it had to yet sink in that another incident happened in my life. I was asked to come to Sanjeevaiah Park to see one movie's shooting. I was impressed with the choreographer's dance movements there. Her name was Suchitra, who soon became my wife.

How has the journey been?

I am in my 16th year as a lyricist and have won quite a many awards too. There is immense satisfaction and happiness but behind it there is also lot of hard work.
