How it happened
As there was a star with the same name as mine (Anjali), I changed mine to Bhagyanchali. After finishing B.Com, I modelled for ads. I also worked on music albums and this made me popular in my place — Kochi. Still photographer Aneesh Upasana showed my photographs to Tamil film director Sivajidas. They decided to cast me as the heroine of their film, Unnai Kaathalipen .
How it felt
While I was acting in Unnai… , I got another film, Nellu, directed by Siva Shankar. My first film released last year, and Nellu, recently. Though I missed watching my first film, I was keen on seeing Nellu . So were my family and friends. We went to Four Frames where the film was screened for an invited audience. Then I went to Studio 5 in Satyam Cinemas to watch it with the public. Those sitting in front of me and next to me kept glancing at me and whispering among themselves. So I knew they had recognised me, but were hesitant to talk to me. That was when an old lady came forward to appreciate my performance in the film. The others followed and shook hands with me.
How life changed
It has not changed even a bit. I have acted in another film Kotti, directed by Sivan. All the three films earned me a good name. I am eager to work with some good directors and big productions houses. I am listening to scripts in other languages too.
